Anita Sarkeesian (Canadian-American) is a feminist media critic, public speaker and Canadian. Feminist Frequency provides videos, commentaries and analysis of portrayals in popular cultures. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic and blogger. Feminist Frequency is a site to educate women about their role in the narratives of pop culture It is the brainchild of Anita Sarkeesian. She also serves as the executive director. Aiming to dispel the myths that are associated with women in pop culture, she also works to address issues relating to targeted harassment women and different classes of individuals online. A graduate in social and political thought from York University Sarkeesian is also an extremely sought-after public speaker and she has delivered speech at the TEDxWomen Festival and the United Nations' Broadband Working Group on Gender. Inquiring about gender and feminism since the age of 7, she started her site Feminist Frequency in the year 2009 when she was studying at the university.
