Chaka Khan

Chaka who is also known as Queen of Funk as she is also known, was an American recording musician. Through her long career of more than 50 years the singer has won a total 10 Grammys. Billboard Magazine has listed her at the 65th spot as the best dancer in the world. Born in Chicago, Illinois and introduced to jazz at a young age by her mother. Early in her career, she was a member of various groups. She later joined the group Rufus. She released her debut album in the band around the age of twenty. The following year, the group was awarded their very first Grammy. Then, a few years later, she was able to make her debut as a solo artist. She the album was self-titled. Through the years she's released other albums including "Echoes from an Era", "The Woman I Am" as well as a track titled "Funk This". The singer is also well-known for her work with charities. Chaka Khan Foundation was established to help children from poor families as well as those who have autism. Khan also works as an actress occasionally.
