
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His breakout role was Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in Magnum. (1980-1988) in which he was awarded five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead actor in a Drama Series with the winner being announced in 1985. Since 2010, Selleck has been co-starring as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. Since 2005, he has been playing Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief in small-town New York City. Also, he's appeared in nine television movies based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck has also played the character as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect, in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady (90). In addition, he has appeared in over 50 different film and television roles since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He played the recurring TV role of Monica Geller's romantic interests Dr. Richard Burke and Lance White on Friends. Additionally, he was A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also played the character in the television western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and is a spokesperson for National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser on advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
